Social enterprises developing capability and wellbeing through work-based learning
This paper explores how social enterprises help transition people into employment through work and training integrated learning. It employs a case study of two Australian social enterprises, and draws on two theoretical frameworks: situated learning theory, to explore work-integrated learning within social enterprises; and spaces of wellbeing theory, to explore their social missions, where capability is one aspect of their mission. It develops a model demonstrating aspects of capability development through situated learning within spaces of wellbeing.
